Will.i.am has handed $800,000 of his fee from appearing on Britain's "The Voice" to Prince Charles' charity.
The Black Eyed Peas star served as a mentor on the reality show earlier this year, but rather than keep his wages, he's donated the cash to The Prince's Trust to fund a technology program for young people.
Says will.i.am, "As a judge on The Voice, the people of the U.K. have welcomed me into their sitting rooms week after week and I feel very much at home here. Working with The Prince's Trust, I am joining the mission to help transform the lives of disadvantaged young people living in under-privileged neighborhoods in the U.K."
"My donation to The Trust will help these young people build skills that are vital in today's and tomorrow's job market including technology and computer knowledge."
On his Twitter.com page, he adds, "I gave the majority of the money I made on the voice to the Princes Trust to build a tech program to get the kids from east LDN (London) up to speed."
Martina Milburn, chief executive of The Prince's Trust, declares, "will.i.am is an inspiring character - we're excited about his vision of helping the most disadvantaged to improve their computer skills and we're incredibly grateful for the donation. It will make a huge difference to vulnerable young lives in the U.K. today."
