i.am Angel Foundation and LA’s BEST Bring LEGO Robots to South L.A.

Since 2016, the i.am Angel Foundation has partnered with LA’s BEST to provide LEGO robotics teams to underserved students in Los Angeles.  Now, we’re ramping up our efforts by supporting two new teams in South LA.

We are excited to welcome two new robotics teams based at Weigand Elementary and Manhattan Place Elementary into the i.am Angel family!  One of teams can be seen pictured above, with will.i.am and NBA star Baron Davis, at the 2018 i.am angel foundation Annual Gala. 

The two new robotics teams are part of our efforts to expand quality STEM programs into South L.A.  In addition to these LEGO Robotics teams, we also started supporting a high school-level robotics team in Watts this season. 

LA’s BEST provides safe, supervised after-school education, enrichment and recreation programs to L.A. students aged 5-12.  The i.am Angel Foundation, founded by musician/entrepreneur/philanthropist will.i.am, seeks to TRANS4M the lives of underserved youth with education, inspiration and opportunity.  Together, we are giving LA’s students the tools they need to shape their own futures and the future of their communities.
