i.am Angel Foundation Supports All-Girls A.I. Hackathon and Compton Tech Week
The i.am Angel Foundation was proud to support two great student coding events this year.
We partnered with AIHacks to sponsor Southern California’s first all-female high school A.I.-themed hackathon. On the weekend of June 15-16, 100 high school girls gathered at the USC Institute for Creative Technologies to code and create apps using artificial intelligence. With 90% of the girls in attendance participating in their first hackathon, it was a great opportunity for them to learn from industry professionals.
In August, we partnered with HackerFund as sponsors of Compton Tech Week, a free week of technology workshops for students in Compton. Both events hosted hands-on workshops where students received training in coding, creating websites, app development, and much more. These events provide students with tools and insight they will need to be successful in the future of the tech world. The experience these students receive is incredible, thank you to our partners for making it all possible.
The i.am Angel Foundation could not be happier with how these events transpired, and look forward to supporting more events like these in the future!
