UBTECH Donates Robots for Creative STEM Learning
This year, educational robotics company UBTECH made a generous donation of STEM products to the students in i.am Angel-supported programs throughout Los Angeles County.
UBTECH is a leading educational robotics company, focused on providing fun and accessible STEAM opportunities and products for students across the globe. Through our partnership, we’ve been able to provide fun STEAM programming to our partners and students across Los Angeles and Compton.
In August, UBTECH donated 200 of their AstroBot robotics kits as well as 10 Alpha 1 Robots to schools and after-school programs in Los Angeles and Compton. Alongside this donation, i.am Angel created a fun Robot Dance Challenge, encouraging students to program their robots to dance, and post videos of their creations on social media. This challenge has been an exciting way to engage students with STEAM and provide them with the opportunity to practice their programming skills and creativity. Students have submitted videos of both Alpha 1’s and AstroBots dancing to Black Eyed Peas songs with amazing dance moves and tons of individuality.
So far we have distributed these robots to various Boys and Girls Clubs across Los Angeles, several LAUSD schools, and CUSD schools in Compton. The positive reaction from students and teachers has been astounding.
These donations have allowed us to keep our promise to help students, not only learn more about STEAM, but also have some fun. We thank UBTECH for being a strong supporter of our foundation, our partners, and most importantly our students!
